Mrs Golder died in April. Who? Pearl Curson Golder was a founder of Sophy Curzon, THE couture establishment on the boulevard.
Mrs Golder was, according to her relatives, "over 100 years old" when she died. I know the story, but I'm not telling! I spent a fascinating morning with her daughter, Susan, who told me wonderful stories about her mother.
Pearl arrived in Fort Lauderdale 68 years ago; the business was founded in 1942.
I am priveledged to have spent a morning, some time ago, listening to Pearl''s daughter Susan speaking about her mother and I can assure you that Pearl was a true pioneer of our wonderful boulevard - probably THE pioneer.
Known as "Mrs G", Pearl continued to work well into her nineties. I have a theory that the boulevard is such a wonderful place because of the women who founded the street - the subject of a further rant, no doubt...

Best wishes to the family. It's phenomenal blessing for anyone to make it past 100.
