Austin, Texas (Vocus/PRWEB ) January 22, 2008 -- Texas Culinary Academy (TCA -- www.tca.edu) announced today that it will host the Third Annual Chocolate Show & Competition, Saturday, February 9 from 12:00 until 3:00 p.m.
The event, sponsored by Paris Gourmet, will showcase TCA student competition entries in several categories including chocolate showpiece, chocolate truffles, molded chocolate candies, candy bars, chocolate cake and chocolate mousse.
You will learn everything about chocolate from cocoa pod to mole, to candy bar.
“If you are curious about chocolate, this is the event of the season,” said Chef Aimee Olson, organizer of the annual show and Chair of TCA’s Pastry Department. She added, “You will learn everything about chocolate from cocoa pod to mole, to candy bar.”
Hourly expert chef demonstrations will feature savory chocolate dishes, including mole and BBQ, with samples available; and children will have an opportunity to decorate chocolate cookie valentines. Ventana, Texas Culinary Academy’s student-run restaurant, will offer a wine tasting and presentation at 1pm by Jane Nickles, TCA wine instructor and author of Winespeak 101. Wines will be paired with sweet and savory chocolate items; cost is $10 per person.
