I sometime think that I'm not overly polite in these rants, but basically, I'd like to think that I'm a fairly polite person.
I know I am. For example, I recently wasted an hour and a half of my precious time listening to a man who wanted to 'revolutionize' our business. His methods were exactly the same as the ones I was using at my used car lot in 1998. (I have a colorful history!)
Was I rude? No. I mumbled politely "very interesting" and "hmm, food for thought" and "thank you so much for coming".
I may have ranted before about the most impolite thing you can do in business - not being considerate of other people's time. Wow, that is SO VERY rude. If you're late for a meeting, without calling to apologise, what you're saying to me is "my time is more valuable than your time". Not a good message. And as for those people who drag you miles to their premises and still aren't on tome - well, if that's the way they work, I don't want to work with them.
Time is such a precious commodity and I don't appreciate it when people don't respect other people's time.
Our schedule is a case in point. You might not think so but running the schedule of busy studio is an art, a science and ... fun. I very much realise that clients want to work at their own pace, that's absolutely fine and it's what I expect and what we aim to accommodate.
But a little consideration - that's all I ask!
