Apparently, so I read anyway, America is the only English-speaking country where the words bring and take are often confused.
I don't see why but it seems to be true - recently we received ad copy making that very mistake. Maybe thinking about pizza will help you?
Pizzas are often sold in takeout establishments, not bringout establishments. That's because you take it home.
While you're fetching your pizza, your fellow-diner back at home is thinking "I hope he/she brings that pizza soon."
You bring something to where you are, you take something to somewhere else. For example, I am in the TSDG office. When I go home tonight I will take my bag with me. When I come back to work tomorrow, I will bring it back.
Not at all tricky.
