And here's another one of my mum's "Well, he obviously wasn't properly brought up".
Is it me or are people getting ruder and ruder and ruder and ruder? Or if not necessarily ruder, aren't people getting less appreciative? Less likely to use what my old mum used to call 'those magic words'? Please? Thank you? They are no harder to say than any other words. And a hell of a lot easier than pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, for example.
We have some lovely clients. We have some though who, well, just weren't properly brought up. It doesn't take much. You simply use your vocal chords ... "Please". "Thank you". It's not tricky. Or if your vocal chords don't work, you can always put it in an email.
If you have a restaurant, you're bound to have come across a lot of awkward or even downright rude clients. Don't think that is confined to restaurants.
As my old mum used to say "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." Why anyone should want to catch flies was always beyond me, but I knew what she meant. And yes, she did bring me up properly.
Thank you for reading. I very much appreciate it.
