Whatever line of business you're in, it must happen to you too. Or does it? There are lots of rants here about clients insisting on various things against our advice. How do you deal with this professional dilemma?
It's a tricky one, and it's easy to decide that you'll do what they want - anything for an easy life.
But you know it's wrong. You know that their ad won't work for them, that their search engine presence will suffer, that they will be perceived in the wrong way, that their company image will be affected ...
You argue until you are blue in the face but they insist. Often, this gives you two choices:
1. You do what they want and you feel that your professional integrity has been breached. Also, you are annoyed (well, I am) that the client hasn't had enough respect for your experience and your abilities to take your advice.
2. You refuse to do what they request and, more than likely, you lose the client.
There must be a middle course somewhere.
