The Grand Daddy Hotel is in Cape Town, South Africa. They say that their philosophy is to 'provide excellent service, clean, comfortable rooms, a creative feel and charge less for it!' Just the name of the hotel makes it seem like the sort of place I'd stay. In addition, the decor looks most acceptable and the restaurant serves largely organic foods.
Although if I ever did stay (next time I'm in South Africa - yeah, right!) I'd be tempted by the penthouse. The penthouse was created on the flat roof of the hotel by importing seven Airstream trailers from America. Once they had been renovated, the trailers were given to sevel local designers who decorated 'their' Airstream in whatever way they wanted - so each trailer has its own individual style and decor.
Each has all the facilities you would expect from a hotel such as satellite TV, en-suite bathrooms, a mini bar and pure cotton linens - and every trailer has its own garden.
Plus, as their website says "the quintessential African skies and the alluring outline of Cape Town’s Table Mountain are reflected in the polished aluminium of the American Dream."
Now, all I need is an excuse to go to South Africa...
