Of COURSE it doesn't work. Of COURSE, it's just a decor item. It was from Ebay or Craigslist or somewhere like that.
Hang on a minute, when I mention Ebay and Craigslist, you do know what I'm talking about, don't you? Of course you do but I'll bet that there are otherwise reasonably intelligent people out their who don't.
Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but there are people who really don't know how to attach an image to an email or how to get to a website without using a search engine. (TRUE!!!)
I remember my old gran. When I was a kid, she had a great distrust of the new-fangled telephone. She didn't have one at home but when she was at our house, babysitting, she was obliged to answer the infernal thing.
She'd pick up the receiver as though it was a poisonous snake, looking at it suspiciously. She'd gingerly place it to her ear. "Hello, hello, can you hear me? Who are you?"
Now, the fact that the telephone was a comparatively recent invention for my old granny gives you some sort of idea how old I am. So this isn't a rant by some young whippersnapper geeky teckie person about how the older generation should embrace modern technology.
This is a rant by an older person who can't understand how people can believe they are in business when they don't even know how to use basic business tools such as the internet. There was a time when no-one knew how to use a telephone (my old granny, for instance) or a fax. But people adapted. I( have no idea why there is this hardcore group who don't know how to use basic business tools because "the internet is for young people".
