Whatever the project is, the chances are that the copy has been provided by the client. We spend a LONG TIME correcting this, as a rule. Most copy supplied has grammatical errors, spelling mistakes and so on - that's OK, we expect it. (Although why people can't use a spellchecker is beyond me).
But do remember that, although we make every effort, if your publication, ad or website contain industry-specific terms, we cannot necessarily correct errors. For example, a design specialist may not have the knowledge to correct errors in:
Chromatophores that contain pteridine pigments are named xanthophores and those with an excess of carotenoids termed erythrophores. It was discovered that pteridine and carotenoid containing vesicles are sometimes found within the same cell.Therefore the distinction between these chromatophore types is essentially arbitrary. The capacity to generate pteridines from guanosine triphosphate is a feature common to most chromatophores, but xanthophores appear to have supplemental biochemical pathways.
Strange as it may seem.
We have also no way of making sure that your phone numbers and fax numbers are correct - telepathy, as you may recall, is a skill we're still trying to develop.
So please make sure that you are particularly careful with industry-specific terms, numbers and real names. So may people have non-English names and it seems that there are various spellings of the name name.
