This is a nice PR venture. The place to eat tomorrow evening is the Texas de Brazil Churrascaria in Richmond.
You see, the IndyCar series is racing at the local track at the weekend and the restaurant is featuring two Brazilian drivers, Mario Moraes and Rafa Matos at their premises tomorrow between 6 and 6.45 pm.
But it's not just that the racing drivers will be making a public appearance at the restaurant; they will be acting as servers. In addition, race fans will be able to see an Indy car which will be located outside the restaurant.
Now I really like that. Just think about the possibilities. Not all restaurants could attract racing drivers but having temporary 'celebrity' servers is a great event to advertise. Local sports personalities? Is the circus in town? (I have a lovely vision of being served by the bearded lady, a contortionist, a clown ...) Local or visiting artists or musicians? Actors from the local theater in their stage costumes? Or if your restaurant has a theme, tailor your 'celebrities' to suit.
What I would like to know though is how the restaurant is publicizing this event? There's nothing on their website. The only reference to the event on the internet that I can find is on one motorsport website. Shame.
If you go there tomorrow night, let me know!
