I think I've heard everything now. (Although I realized as I wrote that that it's not true - there will be more insanity tomorrow, or the day after ...)
The quote "I do not understand why I am scheduled" came from a client. Evidently, he works in some business where employees do exactly what they want, roll in at a time that suits them, leave work when they fancy, not turn into work at all if it pleases them and where customers can pop in at any time, night or day, and have everyone's full attention and several hours of dedicated work right that minute.
In other words, a business with no time-management, no scheduling, no staff rotas, no business hours ... a shambles, really
He must do, if he doesn't understand why work has to be scheduled, don't you think? He claims that his project, and I quote "deserves immediate attention". Now that is guaranteed to put him right at the top of my shit list.
Why? Well you know why, but if I have to spell it out, total lack of consideration; that me-me-me attitude. The attitude that he is more important than the rest of the world. How do people get to be that way? Do they somehow think that this is the way to get on in life?
Thank goodness for blogs. At least I can vent my frustration here and not at the client. Although I'm tempted ...
