Why do they waste their time? Why don't they check first?
Like everyone, I get a lot of junk email. It's a fact of life. Very occasionally, some of it is useful. Just the other day I received an unsolicited email (the correct term for junk mail) from a company offering a really useful service and I'll probably use them at some time in the future.
But today, I got this:
Do you want your website in the first page of Google on following keywords:--
1) website design in florida
2) ecommerce websites design in florida
3) content managed website design in florida
4) website design florida
5) cheap websites florida
6) website design development florida
7) website graphic design florida
8) website design solutions florida
I am Search Engine Optimization expert and I have researched that the keywords I have suggested can bring you lot of customers from internet for your Web Design/Development Business. Hundreds of customers are searching in Google every month and if your website is listed on Main page, customers surely visit your website.
Well, they always say that a good rule of thumb in advertising is to start with a question so, do I want my website to be on the first page of Google for those terms? Er ... actually, no.
First of all, TSDG is NOT a web design company. Web design is PART of what we do. So, no. Let's take them one by one:
1) website design in florida
If I wanted to be number one in search engines for that term, or for any of the selection below, I could be. But I don't want to restrict us to Florida. Our clients come from all around the world. Coming up in a Florida search is really no big deal and easy to do.
2) ecommerce websites design in florida
These people obviously didn't check what we do. As I said above, websites are only a part of our business and we certainly don't want to encourage leads from people who are specifically looking for ecommerce. Normally, ecommerce is provided by specialist companies and we supply templates for them. So, no.
3) content managed website design in florida
Well, I'm not sure that this is a very common search. And if that was a potential client's particular criteria, then I'm not 100% sure we'd be a fit. Of course we offer content management software. Who doesn't? But our clients come to us for our design expertise and not the software we provide for them; the softwares are just a nice bonus that they'd expect from any company, surely?
4) website design florida
Same as number one. Search engines ignore words such as in, so this is exactly the same search term as website design florida. (They should know that).
5) cheap websites florida
What????? Now this just proves that they have no idea about our company and what we do! And there is NO WAY I'd want our site to come up in such a search. Cheap websites, indeed.
6) website design development florida
This is almost exactly the same search term as 1 and 4. The majority of website companies include the word development in their copy and microcontent.
7) website graphic design florida
Actually, as we are a branding and graphics company, who also do websites, we DO come up as number one in this search.
8) website design solutions florida
Such a tiny difference between this and 1 & 4 & 8. Solutions is a crummy sort of buzzword but the majority of website companies use it.
However, our site is the top result (not just a first page result) for things that we actually are and actually do. Such as graphic design agency, branding graphic design - and is in fifth place for design agency, a search which returns over 45 million results.
Interestingly, the email puts the writer's website address at the bottom. Funny that they are not in a search for the term search engine optimization.
And I checked their website. And I cxouldn't resist checking it against our own. Heehee.
