It's a funny thing - we all know that the marketing materials we produce reflect our company. And whether we like to admit it or not, people are affected subliminally by marketing materials, including websites.
I'm not sure why I said 'including', I suppose I mean 'especially'. This time, I'm talking about copy.
I often find, as I survey a blueprint, that some pages have a single paragraph (or even a single sentence!) of copy hence the page will be very short. Other pages have loads of copy, the result being a very long page.
What image, subliminally or consciously, does this give to your potential client? Like any business, you want to appear to be organized. You want the viewer, your potential client, to have the impression that your business is well run. This applies no matter what business you are in.
A variety of long pages and short pages looks, at best, unplanned and, for want of a better word, scatty. It looks as though you just couldn't be bothered to get things right; that you just couldn't take the time to make sure that your viewers (potential customers remember) have a pleasant experience at your website.
If that's the case, why should they have a pleasant experience doing business with you?
