... of your domain name, then YOU are the only person who can make changes to your domain status. Why is this so hard to understand???
If you are the registrant of your domain name, that has happened in one of two ways.
1. You bought your domain name yourself, from the registration company of your choice.
2. A third party (your design company, for example) bought your domain name on your behalf and, at a later date, the ownership of the domain was transferred to you.
Now, I have to go into bold ...
If you are the registrant of your domain name NO-ONE ELSE can access it to make any changes to any settings. NO-ONE.
Your domain name will also have a technical contact and an administrative contact. Most people, when purchasing a domain name put themselves (or their company name). These two contacts also can make SOME changes to your settings, but not all. If they are all you, or your company, only you can make any changes to that domain.
GOT IT?
In the last few weeks, I have had two clients asking us to change the settings of their domain. We cannot do this if you are the registrant. (I don't think I have used bold quite so much in any previous rant before). We might have bought the domain on your behalf (see number 2 above) but if the ownership has been since transferred to you, you are responsible for it.
Just consider what mayhem could ensure if that wasn't the case; if anyone other than the registrant could go and mess with other people's domain settings. So remember, that this situation exists to protect you and your rights!
