We have done many remarkable things for our clients using social media. So I though it was about time to write a case study.
This just happened in the last few days and is a great example of a restaurant using Twitter successfully.
Some months ago, we created a brand for a new restaurant. (Plus of course, a website, collateral, menus, signage ... fun job). The restaurant hired an in-house marketing person but, on Monday, we heard that this person had left the company.
We checked to see what the restaurant's internet presence was like and frankly, it was poor. The marketing person had set up a Twitter page ... how many followers? Fifteen. Last tweet? January. We checked and the page had been set up on December 10th last year. And only fifteen followers?
We set to work.
On Monday, just before we left the office, we created a new Twitter account for the restaurant - setting it up properly. Twenty four hours later, we had 106 followers - all in the restaurant's local area.
This morning, the account has 201 followers - that's a mere thirty six hours after the account was set up. Pretty impressive, but that's not all ...
Yesterday we had several messages from followers saying that they would definitely be going to the restaurant soon and asking about specials, reservations and so on.
And this morning, yes, thirty six hours after the account was set up, we got our first reservation.
Oh yes - result!
UPDATE - Wednesday evening
It's now exactly 48 hours since the account was set up at Twitter. There are now 315 followers and 99% are in the restaurant's local area. The restaurant is offering a ten percent discount to patrons mentioning Twitter. We are promoting their Valentine's Day package. In 48 hours, the restaurant has had more targeted publicity than ever before. I wonder where we'll be after 6 months?
