Wow, I see that I haven't been angry enough to rant about anything for months. But I am now. Today, I am wondering how people can be so unbelievably rude. Or stupid, I'm not sure.
Needless to say, the document, in some sort of prehistoric version of Word, couldn't be opened, so I went to our equally prehistoric reception computer to open the document and retrieve the image.
Do you know what this person had written? You won't believe it. I didn't at first but I'm pasting it here (and forgive the typos; I'm pasting exactly as it):
"I NEED THIS TO BE FINISHED! THIS IS WAY TO MUCH BACK AND FORTH SHIT.
PLEASE FIX IMMEDIATELLY. WE HAVE SO MUCH TO WORK ON THIS WEEK AND WE’VE WASTED A WHOLE DAY ON THIS STUPID BULLSHIT"
Yes, that was from a so-called client. I told you that you wouldn't believe it. Can you imagine what this person is like in a store? Or a restaurant? Obnoxious, obviously.
Now, let me point out something else. Yesterday, when the message was written, it was July 5th. Had that person, who had 'SO MUCH WORK ON THIS WEEK' communicated with us on the Monday? Or Sunday? Or Saturday? Days when we were in the office working on her project? No, of course not. The last communication was on Friday. I don't know about you but if I have 'SO MUCH WORK ON THIS WEEK' the week doesn't start on Tuesday, holiday or not.
So, quite apart from the fact that this person is obviously lazy, rude, obnoxious, unprofessional and in addition refers to her own project as 'THIS BULLSHIT', she fails to realize that, when you're in business, everyone is an ambassador for your company. And you are also an ambassador.
What would your impression be of that company? Well, I have a good line in profanity too, and that company is now on my own shit list. OK, she might just have some menial job but she still represents their company.
I'm so glad that she doesn't represent mine.
